Go Mets!

Nice win yesterday, and with Chip at the plate no less! Would much rather have him than the now-traitor Julio Franco in a big spot.

How could he go the Braves? Granted, Julio played there for a while and he just wants to be able to play when he is 50, but his life must be miserable eating all that healthy food and protein shake shit. When he stops playing he better go on a bender, I'm talking coke, heroin, booze, cheap whores, the whole kit and kaboodle.

Regardless, can John Maine please pitch like he is capable of doing? Can Glavine please last more than 3 innings? And can Pedro come back, along with Alou and Endy? Oh, can Beltran please step the fuck up and start playing like another famous free agent signing who make a ton of money and plays for New York? (Gay-Rod if you are confused).

Lots of baseball left, but I am feeling okay after the road trip. They need to sweep the Steelers or whoever the fuck that team is in Pittsburg and keep winning series. I don't like that the Braves are so close, I fucking hate those cunts.

Does ANYONE care about the Mets or this blog anymore?

Go Mets bitches!

In Boston (sports radio) this would be a f****** joke, home town loyalty is a commodity to be bought and sold, and one better be on the right end of the Human Resources bandwagon when it comes to it instead of being a George Steinbrenner Jr about the whole thing.

When WEEI in Boston breaks down a Julio Lugo or Mo Pena, its not done with love or revulsion, its done with a cynical heartfelt desperation to stay alive in the baseball world (of the AL East). WEEI treats ballplayers (pitchers) like Sawamura dudes instead of like temps walking in from the street. WFAN culture doesn't really go here, and maybe w/o a Dice-K, it doesn't really have a reason to be there.

If one doesn't know what a Sawamura is, it's the Japanese Cy Young Award, and it translates roughly into "North Dakota college hockey start go to the NHL more often than ECAC hockey stars, because Wall Street is just an hour away." Literally, Sawamura means "swamp village", like where a Papelbon grew up.

If you don't believe me read the Chinese at japan:Wikipedia's 泽村奖 (Sawamura Award); it says that Bob Gibson and Jonathan Papelbon grew up in a swamp and made it big as baseball players instead of going to MIT Business School - because the train in Louisiana goes to LSU or Houston, instead of to Tribeca, like it does in New England or Pennsylvania.

New York supposedly has a lot of management talent coming in from all angles; I don't sense the same Asian smarts coming from NY as I do from Boston. Made In Japan circa 1950 has gone a long way to get to the Aiwa and Ichiro era; I would think that an NY fan would really have a grip on this, given the amount of boasting going on about how important the New York financial community is. Hmmm. Is Tokyo on the screen?

And, do you want a computer?

Sam Adams

PS Jerks from NY call in all the time to WEEI-Boston ragging on the Red Sox. I assume, with common sense, that Red Sox fans are on WFAN all the time dealing out abuse.

Am I wrong?

Maybe I'm wrong.

Sawamura!
