Mets beat the Braves 3-2 last night. It is good to eke out those close ones to bitter division rivals. Cranks us up for the playoffs.
Now the lead is seven games and here come the Phils to town to play. We can't shit the bed like the last series we had with them where we were swept away in four games, which whittled our lead down to 2. Now we need to pound the nail in their coffin. We win this series and the East is ours. If we win convincingly then the Mets will roll in postseason!
Predictions anyone? Repeat of the '86 Series? Cleveland/Mets? Angels/Mets? They're all scary but we're magic.

Whoa!!!!!!!!!!! One step at a time. I like your enthusaism (after your depressing giving up post a couple of weeks ago) but they need to take it one step at a time. I agree that putting a beat down on the Phillies is important, but the Mets are going to the playoffs. To be honest, Arizona scares me to stop the Mets from getting to the World Series. But once the Mets get there (I still think they will but it may go longer than 5 or 6 games) they may face the Red Sox or Yankees. I don't know who the Mets match up against the best, but it's not going to be child's play. We'll need a little bit of magic.
As for the win last night, ha ha! Fuck the Braves, Carlos manufactured a run with some timely hitting by the Jew on the eve of his high holiday. I wonder if he'll be playing today. Why do NBA players have to play on Christmas when jewish people get off on their holidays. It's discrimination! But I like Greeney, he has had some clutch hits this year, despite the fact that he is off the sauce.
As for Mota, he needs to get back on the sauce, because he has been awful this year, ERA over 5.50, lets up big hits every time he is in, he just blows this year. I hope they don't have to use him much in the playoffs. Willie loves him though so we just have to hope for the best.
That being said, GO METS!!!!!
Oh yeah, it was fucking 4-3, not 3-2. Mota allowed it be to tied 3-3 in the 8th and the Mets scored in the top of the 9th and Wags sealed the deal.
