No it's not all negative. I heard the roars. Mets fans have nothing to be ashamed about....Don't listen to fat guys who are lucky to win or whiny mutts who haven't been lucky enough to ever win.
They don't pay to go see games...they don't pay for pay TV. It's a tax write off. They aren't fans. You are...it's not your opinion. It's your life. And you ain't a frickin' first time caller...

Understand this...we've come a long way. In my opinion too fast too soon but pain can teach you more than a calendar filled with amusement park tickets. Smiles are great but even the brightest smile in America can get booed (see NL SS Wikipedia).
We weren't good enough. Lick your wounds but they'll heal...

We have Carlos Beltran.
We have Jose Reyes.
Yeah, we still have those three guys...Jose may smile too much, Carlos may not smile enough, and David. Well, I got nothing bad to say about David.
He's that good and getting better.
We've got a lot. It hurts...let it hurt, a lot. In the long run, if this team learns that you only get a few chnces & they learn that lesson now, they'll be better off than the previous good Mets teams who didn't learn. I don't need a history lesson from Ron & Keith.

Understand this also...the Mets have never had a franchise run. We've never been great.

What a freaking ending. I hope the Mets dont forget the way they feel right now. You are right, the Mets fans dont have anything to be ashamed about. This is a new breed of Met fans who root like crazy no matter what.
The old Met fans used to wait for the other shoe to drop. Dont let this be the other shoe fans. Mookie, I'll by the fact that the Mets grew too fast...and now they have to reset themselves, kind of like the economy resetting itself with inflation.
Listen Mets fans, this is what you need to do:
1)Get Young Starting Pitchers who can go more than 5-6 innings. Our bullpen sucked at the end because we asked too much from them.
2) Put Glavin and Pedro in the bullpen. Neither would probably ever do it but if they can only pitch a few innings a game, it seems only logical to me...and that is why it will never happen.
3) Trade Delgado and get some value while we still can. He had a baby this year and also turned into one.
4) Get Humber and Pelfry some major work.
5) Dont trade anyone under the age of 25 for some aging veteran. Last year we let Bannister go for some scrubs and he had a decent year and we could have used him late in the season.

Great blog Mooks. I can't believe I'm not watching baseball at night anymore with my son and it blows, (I could watch the other teams but it hurts too much to look right now).
The Mets have to take care of some business and get rid of some dead weight, including Glavine, LoDuca and Green. I don't think they will be able to unload Mota and Schonwenwis (sp) is in for a couple more years, but they need to upgrade their pen and sort their shit out so they can be on top next year and stay on top. Go Mets!
